This Is Only For Users Who Have Nulled Installations, Themes, or Other Nulled vBulletin Components.

This Is NOT Guaranteed & NOT 100% Working. This Is Just A Possible Band Aid That May Help Lower The Chances of Getting Caught.

You Can Use One Of These Methods, All Of Them, Or None Of Them. It's Your Choice ;)[/size]

      HTAccess

Paste The Following Into Your .htaccess File:

      Code:
Only registered members can view code.
Put This .htaccess File In Your Forum Root Directory.
      For Example: www.MySite.com/Forum/

*If You Host From GoDaddy or a GoDaddy Reseller, Please Remove The Following Line, Or You May Get An Error*
      Code:
Only registered members can view code.

      Robots.txt

If Your vBulletin Forum Is Private & You Don't Care About It Being Properly Indexed By Search Engines, Please Do The Following:

Make A robots.txt File In Your Root Directory. Paste The Following Into It:

      Code:
Only registered members can view code.
This Will Tell All Search Engine Spiders To NOT Index Your Website. This Will Also Decrease Your Chances of Being Caught.

If Your Site Is Public & You Want To Be Listed In Search Engines, Do NOT Use This robots.txt File. It Will Completely Mess Up SEO.

      Footer Copyright Info

At The Bottom of Most vBulletin Installations, You Should See Something Similar To The Following:
      Code:
Only registered members can view code.
Some People Claim It's Best To Leave This Intact Because If Your Site Is Stumbled Upon By vBulletin or Jelsoft, It Will Look More Legit.
I've Also Heard That Removing This Can Get You Into Even More Trouble.

Others, However, Claim That vBulletin & Jelsoft Use Search Results From Yahoo, Bing, Google, To Find vBulletin Sites.
When They Search, They Most Likely Use Bits & Pieces From This Line:
      Code:
Only registered members can view code.
I've Heard Good Arguments For Both Sides, In The End, It's Your Decision ;)

I've Done All These Things & I Was Still Contacted By vBulletin & Jelsoft

Well, They Can Still Find You!

How? Most Of The Websites They Send DMCA's & Take Down Notices To Were Discovered By The Following Method:

      http://www.vbulletin.com/piracy.php

Yep, People Are Ratting You Out! That Form Is To Report Websites Using Nulled vBulletin Installations.

In Theory Your Message Board Could Be Invite Only, Only Have a Handful of Members, Have a Custom Theme So It Doesn't Even Look Like vBulletin, Be Using All The Above Suggestions, Not Indexed By Search Engines, & Still Be Contacted By vBulletin & Jelsoft. How? People Are Telling On You / Reporting Your Website To Them.

What Do I Do If I Was Contacted By vBulletin & Jelsoft?

      Plead Ignorance & Delete

      Plead Ignorance & Buy

If You Want To Keep Your Forum & Don't Want To Buy, Buy Hosting From An Off-Shore Company.
A Company Located in Sweden, Netherlands, Panama, Malaysia, Russia, China, Etc...

What Happens If I Ignore Letters Sent By vBulletin & Jelsoft?

Well, Most Of The Time They Aren't Even Sent To You. Usually They Are Sent To Your Hosting Company.
Sometimes If They Can Find Your Contact Information, They Will Send To Both, However Most Likely The Letter Was Forwarded To You By Your Hosting Company.

Most Hosts Don't Take Too Kindly To Nulled Scripts, Especially Ones Located In The US & UK. I'm Sure They Will Suspend or Delete Your Account, Usually Without Refund, If You Don't Comply In A Certain Time Frame.
Most Time Frames Are 24-72 Hours Or 1-3 Days.

So Basically, Letters Usually Can't Be Ignored, Because I'm Sure Your Host Is Aware Or Will Soon Become Aware.

[size=8pt]This Section May Not Apply If You Host With An Off-Shore Company Who Doesn't Comply With US Law.[/size]

      WHOIS Information Privacy Protection
I Would Suggest That Any Domain Using A Nulled Script Has WHOIS Privacy Protection.
You Don't Want Them Knowing Your Name, Address, Phone Number, Etc...
Some Domain Registrars Offer This As A Free Extra & Some Charge A Few Extra Dollars Per Year For It.
Either Way It's Definitely Worth It.

Make Sure Your Domain Has Privacy Protection!

I feel, if you find a reliable offshore hosting company, they should always be a go to place, especially if you are using Nulled scripts. :)

Why bother having limitations anyway? :)
