This is a mod which will add some information to your showthread template. It is from XenForo but I have made one for vBulletin. This is the only mod out there like this for vBulletin.

It is a simple installation, just import the product XML, vbm_thread_info.xml

You can edit the options under the settings, [vBMods] Thread Info

      Complete Feature List

      • Option to disable the mod completely.
      • Option to select wether the last icon is a "new reply" button, a "new thread" button or both.
      • Option to display our branding

      Frequently Asked Questions.

      Q. Why do I need such a thing, you ask?

      A. Some admins might like to have this nice little addition to their site.
      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please remember to click the, "Mark as Installed" button to the right if you installed the mod ---->

What does 'Marking As Installed' do ?

      * It helps you to stay on top of updates - members who have installed modifications will be notified whenever new updates are available.

      * For security issues - vbulletin-mods.com will contact all members who have installed a modification whenever a security issue is brought to their attention.

      * Marking a modification as installed also helps me know how many people are using my work, giving me extra incentive to provide more features and new modifications.

      I appreciate the support!

I like it... I like it a lot :). What I don't like is there not being an option to "disable copyright footer" somewhere. fixed that issue though by tweaking the XML file. Not that I don't support mod developers, but I think personally that I should have a "clean footer" if I so choose, further displaying all the copyright stuff is kind of like McDonald's posting the ingredients to their "secret sauce" on a billboard in my humble opinion it gives others a very clear chance to mimic it and steal innovation by "cloning" a successful site's design and functions. Start with a vanilla vB, add these mods, copy these styles, enable those features in that order for those members and change it's name and logo and wham-o you've got a clone site. Plus I just like clean footers. The software is what helps drive collaboration and thus the software is the "secret sauce" so to speak.

The point in the branding is to advertise this site which makes the mods. It a way for us to get our name out there for other people to see.

Valid point, Tempus. I agree that you should get your name out there. I'm quite pleased with your work, I'll give you that. I appreciate you, I never thought of branding in that way. I just thought of it as an annoyance considering the high volume of complaints I get from blind/vision impaired colleagues and visitors along the lines of:

Only registered members can view quoted posts.
i took a few of them up on that and it's the original reason I started to opt for clean footers. At one point I was removing the footer copyright altogether; however after careful research and asking around I was told to "Keep it to one copyright/branding message if possible and don't clutter the bottom footer..." that piece of advice came from my company's "Head Accessibility Consultant". And that's why I opt to "branding-free most of everything". It's to minimize the volume of complaints I get from users with special needs. That was my original reason for preferring clean footers. The secondary reason is the "secret sauce" metaphor from above.
    Thanks:

hmmm well its a tough choice. I believe all coders should get recognition for their products but I too remove copyrights from footer because for me thats a small security flaw. If people knew all the mods on my site they could simply "google" those mods download them and look for possible holes and hack the site just through the plugin itself. OR as said above simply clone the site. Last but not least say I have 10 addons installed that would put me at 10 copyrights at bottom of page which would look terrible.

Can you explain a bit more what you mean by optimise for custom poll?
